As the Oakland Athletics, they won the World Series
- In 1972, against the Cincinnati Reds, four games to three
- In 1973, against the New York Mets, four games to three
- In 1974, against the Los Angeles Dodgers, four games to one
- In 1989, against the San Francisco Giants, four games to zero
The Athletics made it to the World Series, but lost, as the Philadelphia Athletics, in 1905, 1914 and 1931 and, as the Oakland Athletics, in 1988 and 1990.
